Our church is launching out on a journey to renovate our Student Ministry Center. God often calls his people to follow him by faith. In Luke 5, Jesus asked four men to launch out into the center of the Sea of Galilee to let down their nets for a massive catch of fish. Jesus was showing these men that we can trust him when he gives us an assignment.

While God demonstrates his compassion for us in many ways, one way he shows it is by offering us rest. But beautifully, he does not reserve rest for the days that we are satisfied with what we have accomplished. Instead, he asks us to rest to demonstrate that we are satisfied with what HE has accomplished.

The greatest joy of life is to know God. Yet, over and over fallen people have walked away from God by allowing hard hearts and stiff necks in our soul. It's not that God is not reaching for us by his grace; instead, it is that we have abandoned his grace in search of piles of rock and metal that we can fall before.
