James 4:14-15

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

It has been an interesting couple of months. I have heard multiple times, from different generations, that they have never experienced or seen anything like this in their lifetimes! The amazing thing to me is some of the reactions we have witnessed around the globe. As we see things beginning to return to normal in many parts of our country, it still amazes me to hear people say "It's too soon" or "We need to wait."

Change has been inevitable for all of us. Churches have gone online and some have had "drive-in" services. Most all ministries have altered the way procedures are normally done. Many plans have been interrupted; weddings have been postponed or dramatically changed; birthday celebrations have been cancelled; funerals have been limited to family only; graduation ceremonies have been held online or cancelled altogether; and the list goes on and on.

Just like everyone else, Bearing Precious Seed, in all aspects of the ministry, has felt the effect of the "pandemic." Praise the Lord - there are still many things that are never going to be cancelled: His Word, His Return, His Glory, and Eternity! We have a lot to do getting the Word of God to others and we are making plans on how we are going to do that. We are often guilty of making plans and leaving out "... If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that."

Our plans here at Bearing Precious Seed were that in 2020, we would hit 200 million copies of Scripture printed since 1973. Our plans and thoughts were that we would probably hit it by May. However, things changed in March. Since that time, we have focused on New Testaments and whole Bibles, and are still around 2.5 million away from the 200 million mark. This is an example of our plan, not His plan. In all things, we should approach our planning with "... If the Lord will, ..." Verse 14 says our life "... is even a vapour, ..." What we do should be for Him and in His will.

At home, we have recently gone through thousands of pictures we have stored in boxes. Many of the people in those pictures have gone on to eternity. While looking at those pictures, it puts things into perspective of how fast time passes and how important it is that we live our lives for Him and in the sense of "... If the Lord will, ..."
